Lincoln Electric erected a 2.5-megawatt wind turbine at its Euclid headquarters. Engineers are continuing to prepare the turbine, which is expected to be operating full-time in three or four weeks. Bill Callahan wonders how the company's neighbors will feel about the turbine.

On June 23, Olympic Steel plans to unveil a smaller wind turbine at its headquarters in Bedford Heights.

A team led by CSU professor Robert Simons recently completed a strategic industrial retention analysis for Bedford Heights. It says that the City should promote economic development incentives to attract and retain businesses.

Several new residential subdivisions have been proposed for Cuyahoga County communities. Chagrin River Ridge, a 10 home development, was proposed for a 27.7 acre site off of Chagrin Road in Moreland Hills. Holbrook Estates is a proposed 14 home subdivision on 17 acres along Holbrook Road in Bentleyville. In Bedford Heights, the proposed Benedict Run subdivision would consist of 24 homes on six acres near Columbus Road.

The City of Bedford Heights will hold a public hearing on Monday at 6:30 p.m. about the controversial senior housing proposal for land west of Holy Trinity Church on Columbus Road. The Planning Commission will have a special meeting on Tuesday at at 5:30 p.m. to vote on the plans.

Officials in Beford Heights are considering rezoning a property on Columbus Road near Holy Trinity Church for use as senior housing, but it appears that the process will not be completed soon.
